In this first episode of our new series, Wisdom for Parenting, we consider what couples should know before becoming parents. We discuss the importance of building a strong, Christ-centered marriage, developing biblical convictions about parenting before children come, and understanding children as a gift and stewardship from the Lord.
We also consider the goal of Christian parenting, the husband’s responsibility to lead his household, the distinct and important roles of fathers and mothers, and why parents must recognize their own inadequacy and depend upon God’s grace and wisdom. Finally, we discuss how God uses parenthood to sanctify parents themselves and the importance of raising children within the life and community of the local church.
